End of the World May 20, 2011?

So, while listening to the radio this morning I happened to catch an interview they were having with a guy that believes that tomorrow, which is Saturday May 20, 2011, is the end of the world. Great; here I was just looking online for refinance information because I was thinking about auto loan refinancing. Well, with the world ending tomorrow I guess it’s too late for refinancing auto loan or anything else for that matter.

Here I wasted all that time looking for refinance information when I could have been doing something more suited for my last days. You would have thought I would have known about it a lot sooner ago too. What the heck? Did I not get the memo or miss that day in school or church?

If you’re wondering, I am kidding and making fun of this whole idea. I really don’t think it’s just because I am a religious person either. Mostly, it just might be good old common sense which some of us have, but a great many lack.

The amazing thing to me is that this guy is getting so much notoriety that he’s even on the radio. Not that the radio station wasn’t making fun of him, they were, not surprisingly. It just amazed me that for something that ridiculous they were interviewing him. It makes you wonder if that many people really believed it, or it was just that slow of a day for news. Either way, it does amaze me that there are people out there like that. After tomorrow comes and goes we have the Mayan calendar mystery, so there is their topic for December.
